             Biography of Robert J. Dickman, Sr., Esq.

 Robert J. Dickman, Sr. was born on November 22,
1944 in New York City and was raised in the New York
Metropolitan area and in Haworth, New Jersey.  In high
school, Bob was an all-state baseball and football player
and was recruited to play baseball and football at
Rutgers University.  He lettered in baseball while at
Rutgers and was drafted by the Houston Astros Baseball
Organization where he played professional baseball for
four years in the Houston Astros minor league system.  
In 1967 he graduated from Rutgers University and
attended the University of Florida College of Law
graduating in 1970.  
At a crossroad, deciding between a career in professional baseball and the law, he chose the
later and moved to Miami where he began his career as an insurance defense attorney.  In
1979, Bob formed his own law firm dedicating himself to the representation of citizens of
Florida and elsewhere injured by corporations and eventually formed the law firm now known
as Dickman, Epelbaum & Dickman.  

n Miami, Bob became a supporter of the University of Miami and became active in fund
raising.  He was the President of the University of Miami Hurricane Club and one of twelve
founders of the University of Miami who provided funding to bring basketball back to the
University of Miami after a 14 year gap.  He was a founding member and on the executive
board of the Miami Hurricane Golden Canes Club.

Bob has lectured throughout Florida in the areas of medical malpractice, trial advocacy and
children’s rights and for the past ten years has been invited to serve on the faculty of the
University of Florida / Florida Bar Association joint program of Advanced Trial Advocacy.  In
the last 37 years, Bob has represented hundreds of individuals and families who have been
catastrophically injured as a result of negligence of third parties and corporations.  Mr.
Dickman has tried over 150 cases and his courtroom skills and reputation are well regarded in
the community and throughout Florida and the United States.  He has represented families and
children who have been the victims of medical and other negligence throughout Florida, New
York, Georgia, California and Michigan.  He has argued over 75 appeals in the district courts
and in the Florida Supreme Court.  Often times, Mr. Dickman has been requested by the courts
to serve as a court appointed arbitrator, mediator and guardian ad-litem on a pro bono basis
protecting children and incapacitated adults.

Bob is married to Carole for 39 years and has two children, both attorneys, and four
grandchildren.  Robert J. Dickman, Jr. is now a partner with the law firm. Together with
Manuel Epelbaum, who joined the law firm in 1980, they have been successful as a trial team in
litigating and trying cases successfully on behalf of victims of negligence in all state and federal

 Manuel Epelbaum was born in Cuba on March 6, 1956 and
immigrated to the United States in 1961 with his parents and
sister.  He was raised in Miami Beach and graduated from
Hebrew Academy High School in 1974. Mr. Epelbaum
participated in several sports in high school including
basketball, baseball and football and played in the little
leagues, pony leagues optimist leagues, senior leagues and
American Legion leagues in baseball in Miami Beach.  

 Mr. Epelbaum graduated from University of Florida after 6
years obtaining his undergraduate and Juris Doctor Law
He was hired out of law school by Robert J. Dickman and has practiced along side Bob for the
last 27 years.

Mr. Epelbaum takes pride in zealously and aggressively representing his clients.  He honed his
skills having represented insurance carriers and other corporations on behalf of the defense and
by the mid 1980s, has devoted the majority of his practice to representing plaintiffs in
catastrophic injury cases.  Together with Mr. Dickman, they have settled and/or tried over 60
cases that have resulted in settlements or verdicts in excess of a million dollars.

Mr. Epelbaum has lectured at local associations and has also been a speaker at dental and
medical symposiums outside the state of Florida.  Mr. Epelbaum has tried in excess of 100 jury
and non-jury trials.  His primary focus at this time has been in litigation of premises liability,
products liability and medical negligence cases.  He is a member of the Million Dollar
Advocates Forum, limited to lawyers who have won Million Dollar plus verdicts and
settlements.  Mr. Epelbaum is fluent in English, Spanish and Hebrew.

Mr. Epelbaum is active in his community and is the commissioner in a basketball league in the
South Dade area and has coached over 20 juvenile teams in the last 11 years in basketball.

He is married to Gisela, a pharmacist, and has 2 children, Adam and Joshua. Adam attends
Palmetto Senior High School and Joshua attends the University of Florida.

  Biography of Robert J. Dickman, Jr., Esq.

Robert J. Dickman Jr. was born on January 24, 1972
in Miami, Florida. In 1990 he graduated from Miami
Palmetto High School. In 1994 he received his
Bachelor of Arts in History/Philosophy from
Pepperdine University in Los Angeles California. Mr.
Dickman then went on to receive his Juris Doctorate
from the University of Miami School of Law in 1999.
After graduating law school, Mr. Dickman started
working for Robert Dickman PA in 1999 and he is
now a partner in the firm.
Mr. Dickman is admitted to the Florida Bar and United States District Court in the Southern
district of Florida.

Since joining this law firm, Mr. Dickman has dedicated himself to representing seriously
injured victims of negligence.Mr. Dickman has distinguished himself by participating in over 20
substantial jury trials, 12 of which he tried as lead counsel.

Mr. Dickman enjoys spending time with his family, playing music, and being in the water. He
is married to Mindy and has a young son named Bob.
